Confidentiality policy relating to applicants’ personal data

The purpose of this policy is to inform applicants to our job vacancies about how Brittany Ferries collects, uses and protects their personal data as part of the recruitment process.

 

WHO PROCESSES YOUR DATA?

BAI SA, whose trading name is Brittany Ferries, is the “data controller” of the personal data collected and processed via the recruitment website, or by post, as well as in the event of an unsolicited application.

Brittany Ferries is subject to French and European legislation on personal data. Your information is processed in the European Union and potentially in the United Kingdom.

• Brittany Ferries undertakes to respect the following basic principles:
• You are under no obligation to provide the data we request. However, if you choose not to, we may not be able to assess your suitability for the job description, which may result in your application being rejected.

• We will only collect, process and use the minimum personal data required and no more than is necessary for the purposes described in this privacy policy.
• It is Brittany Ferries’ policy never to ask applicants for information that is considered sensitive. For example, if you have applied for a job with Brittany Ferries through a third party recruitment agency, that third party recruitment agency may share your personal data with us.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA?

When you apply for a job, Brittany Ferries collects and processes the following data:

• Your name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number and other contact details;
• Your resume, cover letter, past and/or relevant work experience (or any other experience), educational background, or any other information you provide to us in connection with an application and/or the application and recruitment process;
• Information gathered during interviews and telephone calls, where applicable;
• The recording of your image during interviews or video presentations, where applicable;
• Information relating to the type of job you are looking for, the salary you would like to earn and any other details about remuneration packages and benefits, your geographical mobility or other professional preferences;
• Information on how you became aware of the position for which you are applying;
• Information about your references and/or those from the background check (if applicable).

You may be asked to take part in psycho-technical tests or tests to measure your professional skills. You may request access to the results of these tests.

Only those involved in the recruitment process have access to your data, and they have undertaken to use it solely for recruitment purposes. We have taken technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, manipulation, unauthorised access, etc.

Your personal data will be kept for the duration of the recruitment phase. If we offer you a job and you accept it, the information gathered during the application and recruitment process will appear in your professional file.

If we do not offer you a job, and subject to your prior consent, we will only keep your information for the purpose of informing you of other job opportunities, and for a maximum period of two years.

 

WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE CONCERNING YOUR DATA?

In accordance with the law, you have the right to access, rectify and delete your data and the right to object to it for reasons relating to your particular situation. Under certain conditions, you also have the right to have your data deleted, the right to data portability and the right to limit processing.
