The Electro Technical Officer at Brittany Ferries is in charge of management and maintenance of electrical, electronical and IT systems on board.

Missions

As a member of the engine department, you :

Operations

  • Perform safety and automation material maintenance,
  • Keep up to date the department records in CMMS,
  • Prepare work lists for drydocking operations and purchase orders,
  • Maintain in operational condition all the department equipments and keep up to date the inventory lists,
  • Analyse and manage electrotechnical equipments obsolescence.

Management

  • Manage the electricians team, participate in appraisal interviews, ensure familiarization new joiners,
  • Ensure that weekly maintenance operations are conducted properly as well as regulatory tests,
  • Act as a trainer within all the departments regarding operational and safety matters.

Safety and security

  • Train the ship staff in the use of emergency communications equipments,
  • Promote risk prevention, ensure that your department’s staff are familiar with and apply safety measures,
  • Promote cybersecurity on board.

Passengers experience

  • Guarantee the customer satisfaction and comfort, and deploy brand positioning in your area.

Profile

  • You are rigorous and lawful,
  • You can manage a team and work transversally with other departments,
  • You are dynamic and proactive.

 

It is compulsory to hold valid : 

  • Electro Technical Officer certificate
  • Basic Safety Training Certificate
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
  • Advanced Firefighting Certificate
  • High Voltage Training Certificate (basic and advanced)
  • IGF Training is a plus
  • Ship Security Officer (SSO) 

Specific features of the profession

  • Required mobility to embarkation ports
  • Short terms rotations 
  • Fixed-term and permanent contracts
  • Valid passport required
