If you already have an experience as a bridge officer of the watch and if you are interested in sailing on ferries, join our crew !

The Second Officer at Brittany Ferries performs the bridge watch and ensures the ship safety along with embarkation and disembarkation operations.

 

Missions

Within the deck crew, under Captain delegation, you :

  • Perform the bridge watch, ensure ship and passengers safety all along the various port manoeuvres, shallow waters navigation and anti-collision decisions.
  • Have the responsability of vessel’s transit, in accordance with relevant regulations (STCW, COLREG, SOLAS, …)
  • Supervise watch lookouts, deck ratings and night watchman
  • Contribute to new joiners training
  • Participate in commercial operations

Profile  

It is compulsory to hold valid : 

  • Unlimited bridge officer of the watch certificate
  • Basic Safety Training Certificate
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
  • Advanced Firefighting Certificate
  • IGF Training is a plus

  • Required mobility to embarkation ports
  • Short terms rotations 
  • Fixed-term and permanent contracts
  • Valid passport required

Chez Brittany Ferries, le processus de recrutement est adapté au poste pour lequel le candidat a postulé. Certains postes peuvent avoir des exigences spécifiques.

Dans un premier temps, nous vous contacterons pour vous présenter le poste pour lequel vous avez postulé et mieux vous connaître. Dans un second temps, un entretien sera organisé avec un membre du service des ressources humaines et/ou un représentant du poste concerné.
